AI discoverability

# Found by people. Read by AI.

People now ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity the questions they used to type into a search box. We build websites those tools can reach, read and quote correctly, using open standards such as llms.txt. In partnership with Shono AI, we put your Google reviews where AI reads them too.

How AI finds you

## Reach, read, then quote.

An AI tool answering a question about businesses like yours goes through three steps. Each one can fail quietly, and each one is something your website can get right.

- ### Reach

Its crawler is allowed in, finds your pages and gets the text on the first request.

- ### Read

It gets clean text and plainly stated facts, without guessing through menus, scripts and layout.

- ### Quote

It finds specific, consistent, checkable answers it can repeat with confidence, including what your customers say.

Techniques

## What we build into your site.

Nine techniques, all in use on this website. None of them change how your site looks to visitors.

- Server rendering

### Pages that arrive as finished HTML

Many AI crawlers read the HTML your server sends and don’t run JavaScript. We render every page on the server, so the full text is there on the first request.

- llmstxt.org

### An llms.txt file

A short Markdown guide at yoursite.com/llms.txt, in the format set out at llmstxt.org: who you are in a sentence or two, then links to the pages that matter, each with a one-line note.

- llmstxt.org

### A Markdown copy of every page

Add .md to any page address and you get the same page as clean Markdown, without menus or scripts. Each page points to its copy and to llms.txt with link relations, as llmstxt.org recommends.

- robots.txt

### AI crawlers welcomed by name

OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity and Google publish the names of their crawlers. Your robots.txt welcomes the ones you choose, and can allow AI search while refusing AI training.

- schema.org

### Structured data

JSON-LD that states your business name, services, locations, hours and FAQs in a form software reads without guessing.

- Content

### Pages shaped like answers

Headings phrased as the questions customers ask, each answered in its first sentence, with the specifics AI looks for: what you do, where, for whom and how to start.

- Consistency

### Facts that match everywhere

The same name, address, phone number and services on your website, your Google Business Profile and the directories you appear in, so AI tools never choose between versions.

- Sources

### Claims you can check

Figures and claims link to their sources, with the date they were checked, so a reader or an AI tool can verify them.

- sitemap.xml

### Sitemaps and search consoles

An up-to-date sitemap, submitted to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. AI answers draw on search indexes, including Bing’s, which powers Microsoft Copilot.

The llms.txt standard

## A front door for AI tools.

llms.txt is an open proposal, published at [llmstxt.org](https://llmstxt.org/), for a single Markdown file that tells AI tools what a website is about and where its most useful pages are. robots.txt says what a crawler may visit and your sitemap lists every page; llms.txt picks out what matters and says why.

**# Heading**

The name of the business or site. The only required part.

**> Summary**

A short summary with the key facts needed to understand everything below it.

**## Sections**

Lists of links to the pages that matter, each with an optional note after a colon.

**## Optional**

Secondary links an AI tool can skip when it needs to keep things short.

A fictional example

```
# Maple Row Physiotherapy
> A physiotherapy clinic with two locations, treating sports injuries, back pain and recovery after surgery. Direct billing to most insurers.
## Services
- [Sports injuries](https://maplerowphysio.example/services/sports.md): assessment, treatment and return to play
- [Back and neck pain](https://maplerowphysio.example/services/back-pain.md): what a first visit involves
## Visiting
- [Locations and hours](https://maplerowphysio.example/locations.md): both clinics, parking and access
- [Fees and insurance](https://maplerowphysio.example/fees.md): prices and direct billing
## Optional
- [Our team](https://maplerowphysio.example/team.md): physiotherapists and their training
```

Your reviews, read by AIShono AI

## Your customers say it better than you can.

Your website says what you do. Your Google reviews say what it is like to be your customer, and that is often what people ask AI. In partnership with Shono AI, we turn your reviews into an AI Profile: answers to customers’ questions in your customers’ own words, each linked to the reviews it came from, where AI tools can read them.

Getting read

### AI Booster

Your AI Profile, live and growing.

- Your AI Profile, built from every one of your Google reviews, live on your own address.
- New reviews added twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th.
- A count of every time AI reads it, day by day and by who: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google, Bing behind Copilot.
- Reads are counted only from the addresses each AI company publishes for its crawlers.

Checking what AI says

### AI Visibility report

Added to AI Booster.

- 10 questions your customers ask, chosen by you.
- Asked on ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
- A monthly report: who AI names, with its exact answers.
- Who is named instead of you, and your trend week by week.

Being read is not the same as being recommended: AI Booster shows the first, AI Visibility measures the second. You pay Shono AI directly, with no contract. [See Shono AI’s prices](https://shonoai.com/pricing) or read [about the partnership](https://aidrivensites.com/partners/shono-ai).

Questions

## Common questions

**Is llms.txt an official standard?**

It is an open proposal, published at llmstxt.org in 2024 and now in its second version, rather than a standard from a body such as the W3C. Thousands of sites publish one, Chrome’s Lighthouse checks for it, and OpenAI, Anthropic and Google publish llms.txt files for their own developer documentation. It sits alongside robots.txt and your sitemap and costs little to add.

**Is this the same as generative engine optimization (GEO)?**

Yes. GEO is the name for helping generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini find, understand and cite your business. Everything on this page is GEO work, and Shono AI adds the reviews side and the measurement.

**Does this replace search engine optimization?**

No. It builds on the same foundations: fast pages, clear content and structured data. AI search adds one more need: text a machine can read and quote without guessing.

**Can I keep my content out of AI training?**

Yes. AI companies use separate crawler names for training and for answering people’s questions, so your robots.txt can allow one and refuse the other. We set it the way you choose.

**Is this part of a website from you?**

Yes. These techniques are part of how we build and rebuild websites on Replit, and your quote lists what your site includes. If you manage your site yourself afterwards, they stay in place when you make changes.

**Do I need a new website for this?**

Not for Shono AI: your AI Profile works with any website, or none. The website techniques need control over how your pages are served, which some builder platforms restrict, so we apply them when we build or rebuild your site.

**How do I know if it’s working?**

Your website’s server logs show which AI crawlers visit and what they read. Shono AI’s AI Booster counts every time AI tools read your AI Profile, and its AI Visibility report asks ChatGPT and Gemini the questions you choose and shows who they name.
