Divi to Replit
Your Divi site, rebuilt so changes are a sentence away
Why owners consider it
Situations we hear about
Content is wrapped in builder code
Divi stores layouts inside page content. If the builder is ever switched off, pages can show builder code instead of a clean layout, which makes owners wary of changing anything.
Global presets affect more than expected
A style change in one place can ripple across pages. That is useful, until nobody remembers which preset controls what.
Theme, plugins and WordPress to maintain
Divi updates sit alongside WordPress core and plugin updates. A rebuilt site has none of them to manage.
What we rebuild
- Pages and posts, recreated in a consistent design
- Headers, footers and reusable sections from the Divi theme builder
- Images and documents you own or are licensed to reuse
- Contact forms, rebuilt for the new site
- Page titles, descriptions and important addresses, with redirects where they change
What we handle by hand
- Divi shortcodes embedded in posts and pages
- Global modules, presets and theme builder templates
- Third-party Divi modules and child themes
- Custom CSS and JavaScript in theme options
- WooCommerce, membership or booking plugins
- Split tests and lead-generation features
Exporting content and asset rights
Divi's portability system exports layouts and Divi Library collections as files that can be imported into another Divi site.[1]
WordPress's own export file includes posts and pages, but Divi layouts inside them are stored as builder shortcodes. We use the export for text and structure, and rebuild layouts in the new design rather than carrying shortcodes across.[2]
The Divi theme and third-party modules are licensed products. We rebuild the design from scratch, so the new code is yours outright, and confirm which photos, fonts and illustrations you have the right to reuse.
Addresses, redirects and integrations
- We list the current page addresses, including blog posts and any collection or category pages, before quoting.
- Divi pages use standard WordPress addresses, so most paths can be kept exactly.
- Where an address must change, we set up a permanent redirect from the old address once the domain points to the new site.
- We check forms, booking widgets, maps, analytics and newsletter sign-ups, and agree which are rebuilt, replaced with an established external service, or retired.
- After launch we check the redirects and submit the new sitemap. This protects the signals your existing pages have earned.
Design rebuild or data migration?
A design rebuild recreates the look, structure and content of your public pages on a new codebase. A direct data migration moves structured records, such as hundreds of blog posts or collection items, through a scripted import. Most small sites need a design rebuild with a manageable amount of content carried across. Large content libraries get a technical assessment first, so the quote is accurate.
After the move
Editing in plain language
Request 01
“Change the blue buttons across the site to our new brand green, #2E7D5B, and make sure the text on them is still easy to read.”
Request 02
“Add a short notice to the top of the home page saying we are closed from 24 to 26 December, and remove it on 27 December.”
Industries that often move from Divi
Will my posts be full of Divi shortcodes on the new site?
No. We carry over the text and images and rebuild the layout cleanly, so shortcodes are left behind.
Do I keep my Elegant Themes licence?
The licence is yours. A site rebuilt on Replit does not need it, so you can let it lapse.
Will my search rankings survive the move?
We protect your search standing by keeping important addresses, redirecting those that change, carrying over titles and descriptions, and checking the site after launch.
Can I keep my domain and email?
Yes. The domain stays registered to you. We point the website to the new host and leave email records alone unless you ask us to change them. If the domain is registered through your current builder, you can keep it there or transfer it; we explain both.
