WordPress to Replit
Keep what works on your WordPress site. Change how it gets updated.
Why owners consider it
Situations we hear about
Small edits involve too many layers
A text change can mean finding the right template, block or builder module. If the person who set it up has moved on, the safest option is often to email a contractor and wait.
Plugins became part of the job
Forms, SEO settings, caching, security and backups often come from separate plugins, each with its own updates and settings. On a rebuilt site those jobs are part of the site itself, with far fewer moving parts.
Improvements keep getting postponed
A new service page, a better publications list or a simple calculator may be easy to describe but awkward to fit into an existing theme. On a rebuilt site you can describe the improvement to Replit Agent or ask us to scope it.
What we rebuild
- Public pages and blog posts you want to keep, cleaned up in the new design
- Images and documents you own or are licensed to reuse
- Navigation, footer and contact routes
- Contact or enquiry forms, rebuilt for the new site
- Page titles, descriptions and the important page addresses, with redirects where addresses change
What we handle by hand
- Custom post types and advanced custom fields
- Membership areas, user accounts and gated content
- WooCommerce stores, bookings and payments
- Plugins that store data in their own database tables
- Shortcodes or page-builder layouts embedded in content
- Multilingual content and translation plugins
- Integrations with email marketing, CRM or calendar tools
Exporting content and asset rights
WordPress can create an export file (a WXR file in XML format) from Tools > Export. It covers posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories and tags, and can be filtered by content type.[1]
The export file does not include the media files themselves or the site configuration. Images and documents need to be downloaded separately, so we collect them from the media library or the server.[2]
Themes, page-builder templates and premium plugins carry their own licences. We rebuild the design from scratch, so the new code is yours outright, and confirm with you which photos, fonts and illustrations you have the right to reuse.
Addresses, redirects and integrations
- We list the current page addresses, including blog posts and category pages, before quoting.
- Addresses that keep the same path are rebuilt as they are. Where an address must change, we set up a permanent redirect from the old address when you control the domain.
- We check forms, embedded maps, booking widgets, analytics and newsletter sign-ups, and agree which are rebuilt, replaced with an established external service, or retired.
- After launch we check the redirects and submit the new sitemap. This protects the signals your existing pages have earned.
Design rebuild or data migration?
A design rebuild recreates the look, structure and content of your public pages on a new codebase. A direct data migration moves database records, such as thousands of posts with custom fields, through a scripted import. Most small sites need a design rebuild with a manageable amount of content carried across. Large content libraries or complex databases get a technical assessment first, so the quote is accurate.
After the move
Editing in plain language
Request 01
“Add a new blog post using the text in this document, with the photo I attached, and list it first on the blog page.”
Request 02
“Our office is moving on 1 March. Update the address on the contact page and in the footer, and add a short notice to the home page until then.”
Industries that often move from WordPress
I already paid for my WordPress site. Why pay for a rebuild?
What you paid for still has value: the content, the structure and the decisions behind it carry across. What changes is how easily you can update the site from then on, so the improvements you keep postponing finally get made.
Will my search rankings survive the move?
We protect your search standing by keeping important addresses, redirecting those that change, carrying over titles and descriptions, and checking the site after launch.
Can I keep my domain and email?
Yes. The domain stays registered to you. We point the website to the new host and leave email records alone unless you ask us to change them.
What happens to my plugins?
Each one is assessed. Some functions are built into the new site, some are replaced by an established external service, and some are no longer needed. We list the plan in the quote.
