Psychologists and therapists
A practice website that helps the right clients reach out
What matters
What your website should do for you
Help people judge fit
Visitors want to know your approach, the concerns you work with and who you do not see. Honest descriptions save both sides a mismatched first session.
A gentle, clear first step
Explain what happens after someone gets in touch, how long a reply takes and what the first appointment involves. Uncertainty stops people from booking.
Current availability
Waitlists, new-client openings and practitioner leave change often. The site should show the current position, not last year's.
Keep clinical information out of the website
General enquiry forms should not invite people to describe their mental health. Intake goes through a secure route: your practice management system, or a secure intake form we build for you.
Pages your site could have
A starting point. We plan the final pages around your content.
- Home
- Who the practice helps, current availability and how to start
- Our practitioners
- Profiles with credentials you can verify, approaches and areas of focus
- Services and approaches
- Individual, couples, family or group work, explained in plain language
- Fees and coverage
- Fees you choose to publish and general information about receipts for insurance
- First appointment
- What to expect, cancellation policy and accessibility information
- Contact and booking
- Location, virtual options and a link to your booking system
Features you can add
Practitioner profiles
Each profile states registration details supplied by the practitioner, approaches and availability.
Availability notices
A short status on each profile, such as "accepting new adult clients", changed by request.
Booking links
Buttons that open your existing booking or practice management system, such as Jane or Owl Practice.
Crisis information
A clear note that the practice does not provide emergency services, with appropriate crisis lines you choose.
Practitioner matching guide Larger addition, quoted separately
A simple guide that suggests practitioners by focus area without collecting personal health details.
In your own words
Changes you could ask for
Request 01
“Dr. Chen is on leave from 1 July to 31 August. Show that on her profile and hide her booking button until September.”
Request 02
“Add our new associate, Sam Rivera, Registered Psychologist, with the attached bio and photo, accepting new clients for virtual sessions.”
Request 03
“Our individual session fee changes to $220 from January. Update the fees page with an effective date.”
A fictional example
Moving from an old site
Before
A five-practitioner clinic uses a template site where each profile has a different layout and two practitioners who left last year still appear.
The move
We rebuild the site on Replit with a consistent profile format, keep the existing online booking system, and redirect profile addresses that directories link to.
After
The clinic manager updates availability through Replit Agent. Larger changes can be sent to us under a management agreement.
What we will ask you for
- Practitioner bios, registration details and photos, each approved by the practitioner
- Service descriptions and the fees you choose to publish
- Cancellation, privacy and accessibility information
- The link to your booking or practice management system
Works with tools you already use
- Booking and practice management links such as Jane, Owl Practice or SimplePractice
- Directory profile links such as Psychology Today, where you have a listing
- Map and accessibility information for in-person locations
Questions
Common questions
Can clients book directly from the website?
Yes, through your existing booking system. The website links or embeds it, so appointments and client information stay in software designed for health information.
Can we include testimonials?
Many regulators restrict or prohibit client testimonials for health professionals. We leave them out unless you confirm your regulator permits them and you have written consent.
How do we keep the site calm rather than salesy?
We use plain language, generous spacing and a single clear next step on each page. The aim is to reduce uncertainty, not to push people to book.
